Altar Hair is a comfortable quiet space to take a break from the city. A seasoned stylist with nearly 20 years of experience, Brett Ellis Kuri has opened Altar right where his career in the arts started, in Center City Philadelphia. The mission with this space is to offer a welcoming environment of comfort, affirmation, and sophistication where every client feels seen, celebrated, and empowered. From cuts and color correction, to extensions and maintenance, let’s make good art that you can confidently wear. Hair has no binary, wear what you are.

We do hair for all kinds of events. Whether it be your wedding, prom, or another special occasion. Fill out the inquiry form and we’ll be in contact with you about details and pricing.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that schedules can sometimes be unpredictable, but to ensure that we can accommodate all our clients and make the most of our appointment times, we kindly request at least 24 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling requests.
If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, a fee of 50% of the scheduled service cost will be charged. No-shows (missed appointments without any prior notice) will be charged 100% of the scheduled service amount.
We understand that things happen! If you need to reschedule at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible, and we'll do our best to work with you to promptly get you back on the schedule as quickly as possible. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps us provide the best possible service to all our guests.
Parking
Parking is available throughout the area. There is street parking as well as nearby parking garages. We recommend Latimer Car Park between 15th and 16th.
